Plans for a mile-high skyscraper revealed in Japan !
Give them an inch, they’ll take a mile ! The next generation of Supertower has arrived.
Aptly named NEXT TOKYO, the main structure will be 5,557 ft tall ( Sky Mile Tower ), contrasting with the current tallest building in the world Dubai’s Burj Khalifa at 2,716.5 ft
Architect: Kohn Penderson Fox
Structural Engineers : Leslie E Robertson
Location : Tokyo Bay
Site Plan : Chain of hexagon shaped man made islands forming a mini-city designed to combat climate change, rising tides and house up to 500,000 people. Completion Date : 2045
The building’s hi-tech facade will collect, filter and store water from the atmosphere, providing water to the apartments.
And of course, in a sci-fi meets reality moment, the elevators will be cable-free and able to move both vertically and horizontally.
